People are often directionless (part 2)
Hi friend,
This is the second part of last weeks email, if you haven't read it, go check it out!
Also before we begin, what do you guys think of my most recent reel? -
A reality of life: People are often directionless nowadays. Part 2
so I've gone through societal pressure and having an unknown purpose, let me move onto to the last two factors
Being uneducated
Distraction/comfort
Your feeling no purpose because your not educated.
Education is often seen as a scam. This is because many people refer to education as just the schooling system. By all means, I think the schooling system has its good and bad parts, but I'm not referring to schooling education here.
I'm referring to the education on life. The things schools don't teach. What is going on in the world right now? Why are your circumstances like this? What are the laws of human behaviour? How can one go from nothing to something? There's so much questions to ponder on where answers CAN be found.
And its easier now then ever. Reading books will save you years of studying. Reading books will educate you on subjects giving you a more clear understanding on life.
Social media and the internet, if used correctly, allows you to research anything with in-depth details and various interpretations. You can literally listen to a podcast with a profound psychologist and gain some sort of understanding on certain psychological practices.
So there's really no excuse for this one, you have it all within your reach.
When you become educated, your purpose will arise from this. You'll know what to do once you've gained the necessary knowledge.
I have never let my schooling interfere with my education. - Mark Twain
And finally distraction.
Life has become so much more comfortable. which is GREAT but, this comfort has bred distraction. Our minds are very overstimulated.
I've mentioned that the internet and social media are great tools IF used correctly however, many people don't use it efficiently. We use it to gain cheap dopamine. Losing hours just scrolling and seeing what OTHERS are doing with their lives.
Also you don't even need leave your house anymore. You can get your food delivered, your clothes delivered and some people even work from home.
I'm not saying these are bad things but with this comfort and distraction, finding some sort of purpose has become diluted.
How is purpose found when life is comfy and everything is easy to access?
So you need to do the opposite. Do stuff you that's good for you but you hate doing. I know it sounds stupid, but change has to occur in order to find purpose. For example, start waking up an hour earlier.
You can't keep living this vicious cycle.
Build your discipline, according to Dr Andrew Huberman (I was listening to his podcast with David Goggins, go check it out) there's a part of the brain that is the seat of your willpower, and when you do something you don't want to do, it literally grows. The bigger it is, the better. Its also linked to living a longer life.
When you're leaving the distraction, and solidifying your willpower and discipline, you'll start feeling your purpose emerge. You'll start being clear on what your true meaning of life is.
A question to ponder upon
What's your greatest fear and why?
You come this far? Hope I made you think,
Haaris
